The Italian Catholic Diocese of Teggiano-Policastro ((ラテン語:Dioecesis Dianensis-Policastrensis)), in Campania, has existed since 1986. In that year the Diocese of Diano-Teggiano was united with the diocese of Policastro. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno.〔(''Catholic Hierarchy'' page )〕 ==History==
Pope Pius IX established the episcopal see at Diano, 29 September 1850, at the instance of Ferdinand II of the Two Sicilies. He ordered the bishop of Capaccio to fix his residence in the town of Diano; thenceforth the see was to be known as Capaccio and Diano. But under the second bishop, Domenico Fanello (1858-83), Capaccio was again separated from Diano and united with the Diocese of Vallo, in which town the bishop now resides. In 1882 Diano received the name of Teggiano.〔(''Catholic Encyclopedia'' article )〕 The current bishop is Antonio De Luca
